Dovrefjell, Dombås & Gubrandsdal

Just a stone throw’s away from Trollskogengård is the region of Dovre. The Queen of Dovrefjell towers 2286 meters above sea level. The view on a good day is definitely worth the trip! Musk oxen are the beasts of Dovrefjell – a pleasant giant if you keep at a respectful distance. Local guides can provide you with a fantastic wildlife experience in the high mountains! Trollskogen Gård

comprises of 400000m2 of grassland and forest area. One doesn’t need
to actually leave the farm to be immersed in nature, enjoy nature walks, bike, forest bathe, swim in the Lågen river or simply relax with a book or and do nothing at all.

Lesjaskogvatnet

You can borrow our Pioneer boat and enjoy the fantastic Lesja Forest Lake. Previous boating experience required.

Trout & Grayling fishing

the Lågen river that runs past our farm provides for a much
sought after sport. Fishing permits are available at www.inatur.no/

Nordstølen seter

– Our highland pasture is situated deep in the heart of Reiheimennational park - listed on UNESCOs world heritage site. The pasture is situated a 20kms drive away through the stunning scenary of the Lordal valley. Waterfalls, turquoise pools and rapids dot the path along the Lora river.

Lorkverna 

Lorkverna is an open-air museum situated on the river Lora. A group of local volunteers keep the old water run corn-mill in operation.  In addition, an iron smelting furnace still exists to this day. The atmosphere is truly unique.

Lorfossen Waterfall

Lesja

visit the exceptionally beautiful local church and the neighbouring open-air museum – Lesja Bygdetun. Several activities are organized during the summer months.

Tussheimbue Hike

Enjoy this 3.2kms hike from Lesja centre. You will be rewarded with beautiful views of Lesja valley. At the top, stop at the little cabin for a picnic and rest.

Wildlife

Moose, deer, reindeer, fox, beavers, cranes, golden-eagles can be spotted in our
immediate vicinity. Twilight or the blue-hour (Blåtimen) as we say in Norwegian is the perfect time to spot.

Aursjøen Dalsida Skamsdalen :

situated north of our farm, this area boasts little coves and beaches, wild streams and a large lake surrounded only by the sounds of nature.

Valåfossen 

a short hike near Lesjaskog brings you to a lovely waterfall.

Slådalsvegen 

the connecting road over the mountains to the village of Vågåmo. The toll
road runs through a beautiful mountain area with several hiking opportunities.

Avdemsbua 

Avdemsbua , a beautiful white shop on the E136 between our farm and Lesja, sells unique regional products such as cheeses, sausages and home-made ice cream.

Lambing

In spring, our neighbour’s farm will have baby-lamb birthing, upto 500 lamb
come into this world each spring and then several weeks later they are let loose for the first time to graze freely. Accompany us to witness the lamb frolic and play, hop and jump in sheer excitement and joy.
